Open unit disk

Definition

The open unit disk in $\mathbb {C}$ is defined as the subset:

$\{z\in \mathbb {C} \mid |z|<1\}$

Equivalently, it is the interior of the unit circle i.e. the bounded component of the complement of the unit circle, in $\mathbb {C}$.
