Definition

In one dimension

A domain (open connected subset) in is termed convex if given any two points in the domain, the entire line segment joining those two points is also in the domain.

In higher dimensions

A domain in is termed convex if given any two points in the domain, the entire line segment joining those two points is also in the domain.
