Definition

Let Λ denote a lattice in C. The Weierstrass p-function corresponding to Λ, denoted , is a doubly periodic function with period lattice Λ, defined as:

(z)=1z2+wΛ(1(z+w)21w2)

It turns out that all even Λ-periodic functions are rational functions in , and all periodic functions in Λ can be expressed in the form A+B where A,B are rational functions in .
