Definition

A Hankel's loop contour is a contour in the slit plane comprising a single open curve whose two ends approach the negative real axis from above and below, asymptotically, and which encircles 0 in between.

Hankel's loop contour is important because of its used in giving an integral formula for the reciprocal of the gamma function
